Type: Full-time

Salary: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative:

  • Review, distribute, and file daily correspondence and staff records.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Track and code receivables and invoices.
  • Complete comprehensive security reports and summaries.
  • Schedule staff activities to ensure qualified coverage of security functions.

Training:

  • Provide mentorship and promote ongoing professional development for succession planning.
  • Coordinate staff training on first aid, CPR, handcuffing techniques, self-defense, and report writing.
  • Oversee all training to ensure compliance.

Supervisory:

  • Handle sensitive, high-profile situations in a professional and exemplary manner.
  • Provide clear, concise instructions for performing daily duties.
  • Monitor staff dress, deportment, and written reports.

Risk Management & Service Excellence:

  • Stay current with relevant legislation and regulations, including collective agreements and employment standards.
  • Collaborate with tenants on loss control and other security matters.

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical:

  • 3+ years of security-related experience in a lead capacity.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and regulations.
  • Good knowledge of site security and life safety needs, industry-related techniques, technology, and trends.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting.
  • Excellent report writing skills.

Diploma & Certification:

  • College diploma in Law Enforcement or Security.
  • Valid certification in First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS.
  • Valid Provincial Security License.

Other Skills:

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Good customer service and leadership skills.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with a diversity of people and situations.
